Bathroom Taps
How they work
All taps operate using either a CD valve (ceramic disc) or a standard valve. A ceramic disc valve rotates through 90° exposing ports in the discs that open and close to allow passage of water. The ceramic discs used in the CD valve prevent excess noise when in use. A standard valve operates using a screw down valve operation in a vertical direction from closed to maximum opening. The standard valve allows more control of the flow, providing there is sufficient pressure in the system. Rubber ‘O’ rings are used in the standard valve for the main sealing washer. If your tap is dripping, a worn ‘O’ ring is usually the cause, which is easily replaced.
How they're made
brassware is made up of copper and zinc and has either a chrome plating or gold plating - depending on the style - which is very hard and durable.
We strongly recommend that brassware is only to be cleaned with warm soapy water followed by rinsing, and if necessary drying with a soft cloth. A propriety chrome cleaner can also be used, however this substance is abrasive, so product instructions should be followed with care. Plated products are very vulnerable to acid attack and some household cleaners including strong disinfectants. These materials may have a varying effect on the surface of the products from black spots and streaks, to pitting of the surface, neither of which can be removed.
2 Tap Hole Basin Pillar Taps
